For ten years, SAKI’s name usually came with a band attached. In 2026 it stood alone on an album cover.
Mary’s Blood
SAKI was born on 4 October 1990. She joined the metal band Mary’s Blood in July 2012 and played guitar in it until the band went on hiatus on 9 April 2022. She has been with the guitar maker Killer since 2009, and in 2021 it gave her a signature seven-string model.
She also has an unusual degree for a metal guitarist. She studied aesthetics and art history at Keio University.
NEMOPHILA
In 2019 she became one of the two guitarists of NEMOPHILA, alongside Hazuki, in the band put together by vocalist mayu. She was with it through three albums and its Nippon Budokan concert on 17 February 2024. On 31 March 2024 she left, citing differences in direction.
The Other Projects
She has never had only one thing going. In 2020 she formed the duo AMAHIRU with Frédéric Leclercq, the French musician known from DragonForce and Kreator. Their self-titled album came out on 27 November 2020.
On 7 October 2023 she joined Like-an-Angel, the L’ArcenCiel tribute band led by that band’s own bassist, tetsuya. From 2015 to 2025 she also wrote a column for the magazine Young Guitar.
Solo
The solo work began with the releases “Brightness” in February 2021 and “Germinans” in February 2024. In September 2025 she played her first solo tour of Japan, “Autumn Rain,” and every date sold out. A larger tour followed from February 2026, the same month she published an autobiography.
Then came the album. PLUVIA, her first solo full-length, was released on 24 June 2026 on King Records’ NEXUS label. It was her major-label debut as a solo artist.
There is a thread in the titles. Pluvia is Latin for rain, and the tour before it was called “Autumn Rain.”
Why It Matters
Leaving a band that has just played the Budokan is a risk. Two years on, she had a sold-out tour and a major-label record with only her name on it.
Start with AMAHIRU’s album, then PLUVIA.
