Hazuki has spent most of her career as half of a guitar pair. She has had three partners. The second pairing took her to the Budokan, and the third is still going.
Shimane
Hazuki comes from Shimane Prefecture. She has named Arch Enemy and Children of Bodom as favourite bands, both of them melodic death metal bands built on two guitars.
From August 2015 to July 2017 she played in the band Disqualia, sharing guitar duties with Narumi, who had been in Destrose.
NEMOPHILA
In 2019 she became a founding member of NEMOPHILA, the band started by vocalist mayu. The other guitarist was SAKI. With that lineup the band released three albums, played Los Angeles and the Aftershock festival in 2022, and reached the Nippon Budokan on 17 February 2024.
After SAKI left in March 2024, Hazuki was the band’s only guitarist, through the album Apple of My Eye in January 2025.
The Announcement
On 7 August 2026, NEMOPHILA announced that Hazuki would leave the band on 12 October 2026, after a final show at EX THEATER ROPPONGI in Tokyo. Drummer Tamu Murata’s departure was announced at the same time.
In her statement she said that a gap had opened, over the music she wanted to pursue and over how the band should work, that she had not been able to close, and that she could no longer picture heading in the same direction. She described the decision as one reached after long thought.
KOIAI
Her other band continues. KOIAI was formed in December 2022 around two guitarists: Hazuki and Li-sa-X. It has released three EPs, Deep Indigo and Deep Love in 2023 and Come see me in November 2024.
Why It Matters
Some guitarists want the stage to themselves. Hazuki has always chosen the other arrangement, and has held that place in three bands.
Start with NEMOPHILA’s REVIVE, then KOIAI’s Come see me.
