DEXCORE formed on 28 October 2016. The lineup has changed many times since. The person at the microphone has not. Kagami (架神) has been the vocalist in every version of the band.

Vocalist and Writer

The band’s official biography lists Kagami as vocalist and main composer. Its own description of the music is metalcore at the base, aggressive songs joined to melody, with a singer who moves between screams and a softer voice. DEXCORE comes out of the visual kei world and plays to metalcore crowds as well, which is why its name turns up on bills on both sides.

The Records

The first full album, [METEMPSYCHOSIS.], came out on 30 September 2020. The mini-album -18- followed in 2021, and the second full album, WE WERE HERE, in 2025.

The Hardest Year

On 19 September 2025, bassist TO-RU died. The band announced it three days later. The cause was not made public, at the family’s request. He had played a show with the band two days before.

On 2 July 2026, guitarist yumeto left, citing personal circumstances. That left Kagami as the only member, with support musicians filling the stage.

DEXCORE did not stop. In January 2026 it shared Ebisu LIQUIDROOM with DEVILOOF and JILUKA for the three-band night D×D×J. It was also on the bills of DEVILOOF’s DEVIFEST 2026 and a leg of coldrain’s 47-prefecture tour.

The Anniversary

A tenth-anniversary one-man show is set for 28 October 2026 at Ebisu LIQUIDROOM, ten years to the day after the band formed. Its title is “This is not a sad song.”

That title reads like an answer to anyone expecting a memorial. A band reduced to its singer, with a decade behind it and its own name on the door, has chosen to call the night a celebration.

Start with [METEMPSYCHOSIS.], then WE WERE HERE. Our listening guide to the band is here.
